Vision and Mission Statement

On 27th of December 2010 which coincides with 21st of Muharram 1432 of Hijri calendar, to evaluate the preceding 10 years of its existence and to adjust to future organisational development and projections, the Senate Council Meeting (Rapat Badan Senate) formulated the revised vision statement, mission statement, as well as organisational objectives of STEI Tazkia for the period 2011 – 2015, as follows:

Vision statement

To be the regional centre for reference in theoretical knowledge and practical expertise of Islamic economics.

Centre of Reference

  • STEI Tazkia will be referenced in the establishment of similar departments and/or educational institutions, the development of curricula, as well as production of essential resources.
  • Alumni of STEI Tazkia will be the benchmark of quality and model of organisation that have contributed to Islamic economics theoretical knowledge as well as its practical expertise.

Ilmiyya – Theoretical Knowledge

The content of curriculum is a comprehensive integration of conventional economics and sharia laws based on Al Quran and As Sunna.

Amaliyya – Practical Expertise

The methods which are applicable in professional world during the learning process in STEI Tazkia and after graduation which reflect Islamic economics.

Islamic Economics

Islamic economics in STEI Tazkia is divided into three departments:

  • Islamic Economics, with Development Economics concentration
  • Islamic Accounting, with Auditing concentration
  • Islamic Business and Management, with Islamic Entrepreneurship and Islamic Marketing concentrations.

Regional

To be a renowned authority in Islamic economics in Southeast Asian region, that comprises Malaysia, Singapore, Brunei, Thailand, and the Philippines.

 

To realise the vision to be the regional centre for reference in theoretical knowledge and practical expertise of Islamic economics, STEI Tazkia is committed to following missions:

Mission statement

  1. To produce leading experts in research as well as practice of Islamic economics.
  2. To conduct applicative researches of Islamic economics.
  3. To develop social and community empowerment models according to Islamic values.

 

The formulated vision statement, mission statement, and organisational objectives have been mapped into strategic planning involving indicators based on Balance Scorecard (BSC) frameworks which is focused on four perspective, which are:

  4. Organisation and financial
  5. To attract prospective students to continue learning in STEI Tazkia
  6. To provide the latest curriculum according to the international and national standards of higher education as well as industry standards
  7. To build synergy with schools, industry, government and relevant international and national organisations
  8. To produce top quality researches that contribute to the collective knowledge regarding Islamic economics
  9. To formulate programmes regarding community development and environmental conservation by the academic staff and students
  10. To provide competent academicians with expertise in conventional economics, sharia laws and international communication
